This article describes how to find the correct COM Port being used by the Rounds hardware.
Sometimes issues can occur that cause the COM Port information to be lost or changed on the PC. Below are the steps to find the correct COM Port that the Rounds hardware is using. Your PC may or may not have a ‘Serial to USB’ adaptor. Please use the correct instructions below for your installation setup.
- Click the ‘Start’ button on the Windows Task Bar.
- Click ‘Control Panel’.
- Click ‘Device Manager’.
- Expand ‘Ports COM and LPT’.
Protrac iD Hardware:
- If you have a ‘Serial to USB’ adaptor, look for the COM Port that includes ‘USB to Serial’ in the name.
- If you do not have a ‘Serial to USB’ adaptor, look for the COM Port called ‘Communications Port’.
Benzing Cogard 3000+ Hardware:
- Look for the COM Port that includes ‘Silicon Labs’ in the name.
