A selection of different Page Elements can be added to each Page. These Page Elements are defined as:
- Entry – a free text field that allows the end user to enter information.
- Text – text that is displayed to the end user.
- Image – image files that are displayed to the end user.
- MultiMedia – video or audio files that are displayed to the end user.
- Question – a question that can be answered by the end user.
Adding an Entry field to a Page:
- In the ‘Course Design Studio’ expand and select the ‘Page’ to add this Page Element to.
- Click the ‘New’ button.
- In the ‘New Element’ window, fill out the below details:
- Element Type – Choose ‘Entry’.
- Prompt – Name or short description of that is displayed to the end user prior to the Entry field.
- Data Type – The type of information that is to be collected.
- Required – Enabling this option makes this Text field required to be filled out by the end user.
- Placeholder – Information that is displayed to the end user inside the Entry field to advise the end user of what to type into the field.
- Example 1: If a Data Type of ‘Date’ is chosen, the Placeholder could be ‘dd/mm/yyyy’.
- Example 2: If a Data Type of ‘Email’ is chosen, the Placeholder could be ‘someone@yourdomain.com’.
- Click ‘Save’.
Adding a Text field to a Page:
- In the ‘Course Design Studio’ expand and select the ‘Page’ to add this Page Element to.
- Click the ‘New’ button.
- In the ‘New Element’ window, fill out the below details:
- Element Type – Choose ‘Text’.
- Click the ‘Create, Edit or View Text’ button. This opens the HTML Text Editor. This opens the ‘HTML Text Editor’.
- Use the ‘HTML Text Editor’ to type and format the text that is to be displayed to the end user.
- Once all the text is entered, click ‘File > Save’ on the top menu bar to save the text.
- Click ‘Save’.
Adding an Image file to a Page:
- In the ‘Course Design Studio’ expand and select the ‘Page’ to add this Page Element to.
- Click the ‘New’ button.
- In the ‘New Element’ window, fill out the below details:
- Element Type – Choose ‘Image’.
- Caption – Text that is displayed above the Image to the end user.
- Show Caption – Enabling this option displays the ‘Caption’ to the end user.
- Image Path -Select the image file that is to be displayed to the end user.
- Click the elipses ‘…’ button to open the ‘Select Image File’ window.
- Navigate to and select the image file.
- Click ‘Open’.
- The image will now be displayed in the box with the square border.
- If the image is correct, click the ‘Save Image’ button. If not then select a different image.
- Click ‘Save’.
Adding a MultiMedia file to a Page:
- In the ‘Course Design Studio’ expand and select the ‘Page’ to add this Page Element to.
- Click the ‘New’ button.
- In the ‘New Element’ window, fill out the below details:
- Element Type – Choose ‘MultiMedia’.
- Media Path – Select the video or audio file that is to be displayed to the end user.
- Click the elipses ‘…’ button to open the ‘Select Media File’ window.
- Navigate to and select the media file.
- Click ‘Open’.
- Click the ‘Play Media’ to review the media file.
- If the media file is correct, click the ‘Save Media’ button. If not then select a different media file.
- Caption Above – Text that is displayed above the media to the end user.
- Caption Below – Text that is displayed below the media to the end user.
- Click ‘Save’.
Adding a Question to a Page:
- In the ‘Course Design Studio’ expand and select the ‘Page’ to add this Page Element to.
- Click the ‘New’ button.
- In the ‘New Element’ window, fill out the below details:
- Element Type – Choose ‘Question’.
- Question Type – Choose what type of Question that is to be displayed to the end user.
- True/False – Choose this to display a ‘True/False’ Question.
- Is True correct? – Enable this option if the answer to the Question is ‘True’.
- Yes/No – Choose this to display a ‘Yes/No’ Question.
- Is Yes correct? – Enable this option if the answer to the Question is ‘Yes’.
- Multiple Choice – Single Correct Answer – Choose this to display a Mulitple Choice Question with only a single correct answer.
- Multiple Choice – Multiple Correct Answers – Choose this to display a Multiple Choice Question with multiple correct answers.
- True/False – Choose this to display a ‘True/False’ Question.
- Question Text – Enter the Question here.
- Prompt Text – Text that is displayed prior to the Question.
- Display Prompt – Enabling this option displays the ‘Prompt Text’ to the end user.
- Correct Score – If the ‘Pass Method’ or ‘Score’ is chosen then this option will be enabled. Enter the total score of answering this Question correctly here.
- Incorrect Demerit – If the ‘Pass Method’ or ‘Score’ is chosen then this option will be enabled. Enter the total demerit points of answering this Question incorrectly here.
- Multiple Choice – If the ‘Question Type’ of ‘Multiple Choice – Single Correct Answer’ or ‘Multiple Choice – Multiple Correct Answers’ option is chosen, this list will be enabled. Add in all the Multiple Choice Questions here and choose if the Questions are correct or incorrect.
- Click ‘Save’.
